Christmas refit for Steber Lake Macquarie cruiser

Lake Macquarie cruiser, Roma should be back in the water soon after Christmas following an extensive refit at Steber International’s Taree factory complex.

The Steber 41ftr was originally commissioned in 1991 and while most of the work will be carried out inside, the vessel has also been sandblasted and re-epoxied to freshen the exterior look.

Granite benchtops, new upholstery and re-stained timber will be highlights of the total interior refit.

The owners are more than happy with the Roma’s smooth handling in all sea conditions, which included a long ocean voyage to Japan.

Steber managing director, Alan Steber, said: “Refits have grown in importance over recent years and complement the manufacture of our range of commercial and recreational vessels for the Australian and overseas markets”.

“All Steber boats are well constructed, built solid for longevity and the rugged Australian coastline.

“If you have a solid platform (a Steber vessel) it is often worthwhile re-investing in engine and interior upgrades to extend the lifetime of these well performing and functional boats”, Mr Steber concluded.
