STEBER DELIVER 4TH NAVY BOAT TO CAIRNS

The fourth vessel was personally delivered to Cairns by water, doing some 70 boat hours almost non-stop.  With two on board, we did two 24 hour stints with only a bit of “shut eye” in between.  We spent a few nights on board at Yeppoon, Airlie Beach and Townsville.  We left Taree on Tuesday 14th August and arrived in Cairns on Sunday 19th August, Alan said.

Alan recorded every aspect of the journey which required a little over 6000 litres of fuel, averaged 17.5 knots speed-over-ground and used 42.2 litres per hour per engine.  The boat performed admirably with no problems.  It was a good “shake-down” cruise.
