Steber’s innvoative storage solution for yachties

The Cruising Yacht Club of Australia (CYCA) has adopted an innovative storage solution, designed and manufactured by Steber International based in Taree.

The CYCA has ordered 100 fibreglass crew storage boxes which will be hired out to members at  their Rushcutters Bay headquarters. The bay is famous as the starting point for the annual Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race.

Alan Steber, general manager of Steber International said about 1000 hours will be involved in  manufacture of the boxes, which measure 1.2m x 0.9m x 1.6m high.

“We made the plugs and moulds, manufacturing all the fibreglass components and assembling to completion with hinges, shelf brackets and locks”, Mr Steber said.

“The design and manufacture ensure they are completely waterproof and the boxes are yet another example of the innovation Steber International has introduced to its business model over recent years”.
