Eight boats on the go at Steber International

Steber International’s Taree factory complex is literally a hive of activity with eight major boat builds underway, as well as a myriad of smaller projects.

General Manager, Alan Steber said that apart from the current builds, the team is also finalising quotes for several commercial projects both here and overseas.

The eight major projects currently underway are:
. two 38ft Marine Rescue NSW vessels to be stationed at Port Stephens and Port Macquarie
. another 38ftr to be based in Port Lincoln, South Australia
. a 28ftr for a Melbourne client
. major refit to a Victoria Police 40ftr
. 34ft commercial cray boat based at Forster, NSW
. major refit on a 33ftr based in Sydney
. 43ft twin screw commercial demo vessel

The demo vessel is six weeks from completion and will be available for immediate sale and delivery.

“In addition we have a 38ft commercial on the water available for immediate sale”, Mr Steber said,

“And we have just finished repowering and refitting a 30-year-old 36ftr”.

“2016 is definitely ‘shaping up’ as confidence returns to the industry.

“With increased staff, new apprenticeship intakes and lower Australian dollar, export enquiries with shorter delivery times, are keeping all staff on their toes.

“Several new joint ventures are also underway with product releases due in late 2016, and along with continuous R&D projects, will ensure Steber continues leading the industry”, Mr Steber
concluded.
