Steber attend Sydney Boat Show

Leading Taree manufacturer, Steber International will be well represented at this year’s Sydney International Boat Show about to get underway at Darling Harbour.

General Manager, Alan Steber will be joined by Business Development Manager and brother, Colin, while father and founder, Bruce and wife Beryl will be special guests at a “Golden Oldies” forum. Bruce and Beryl have been busily sorting through archive boxes in preparation for the seminar, tracking marine history back to post-war timber boats, power boats and the growth of marine sales outlets prior to establishment of the Boating Industry Association (B.I.A.).

This year’s boat show, which runs from August 1-5, also represents the first time Steber have not been displaying on the waters of Cockle Bay – Alan advising that all current demonstration boats have been sold – the latest to its happy new owner in Coffs Harbour.

“We will however have five scale model boats on display, ranging from 28ft to 52ft options, and plenty of brochures and literature for potential clients”, he said.

“We will be meeting with international visitors looking at our commercial and recreational range, while domestic inquiries will centre around new boats and potential refits”.

Alan is anticipating a quieter boat show this year due to the current economic climate but he still expects plenty of visitors and inquiries. It will be the last boat show at Darling Harbour for three years  as the State Government undertakes its multi-million dollar makeover of the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre.
